Golden Opportunity

Synopsis: You are a coin. Your mission is to save as many coins as you can while avoiding getting caught by the adventurer.

This game was built in a 48 hour period for the GMTK GameJam 2023, where the theme was "Roles Reversed".

To those who test during the GameJam
Some people I've sent it to have reported issues like not being able to collect coins, or not being able to Restart the game by pressing the button on the Game Over screen.

These issues seem to appear randomly, and restarting the game has proven a good temporary solution. Until the voting is over, I'm afraid I can't upload fixes for these issues.

How to play
The game is controlled with The A/D, Left/ Right, etc. on your keyboard or controller. You jump using the Space-bar, C, J, or maybe a controller button, I haven't tried it, but I guess it would work since it's Unity.

Acknowledgements
I am aware that the game is a tad cropped, but I'll have to look into that when I'm allowed to (after the game jam voting is over).  Aside from that, the game works, please enjoy it!

Future plans
I do plan to implement a leaderboard after the voting is finished. Kinda sad I didn't think of it until the last hour of the jam, but aw well.

Depending on the responses I get, I might continue on this game for a bit more, and in the future do my own game art for it and tweak the A* algorithm for the enemy so it can jump the platforms and steal coins, as well as chase the player. And also tweak the platforming further to make it feel even smoother.
